Project Title
The Impact of Colonial Financial and Trade Policies on Regional Trade Networks in the Indian Subcontinent.
Description
This paper studied the lingering effects of colonialism on regional trade networks within the Indian Subcontinent with particular reference to Sindh. Given the traditional nature of society within the Subcontinent, communal bonds tend to be held in high regard and remain at the center of commerce. Colonialism has had both a direct and indirect impact on trade that is still visible and in effect today. This paper worked to to examine the impacts of colonial financial, trade and infrastructure policies on the region and how they affected Sindhi Hindu trade networks within the Subcontinent.
